Cuppy- Cakes!

Ok, so we are busting out the deliciousness tonight! We just had some awesome home-made steak, egg, mushroom and onion breakfast burrito/fajita type goodness, and now for....DESSERT! Bryce ran off to a church youth activity, so while he's away, I'm gonna track down the recipe for some amazing Chocolate Fudge Brownie CUPCAKES. My sister-in-law Ashley made these the other day from a book I let my Mom borrow/have...and they were to die for. So I am hoping that I have all of the ingredients. And I need the recipe, because I forgot to have Bryce pick up another copy of the book. Oops.

The recipe is from this book:

You can buy this book from Amazon.com or Cedarfort.com or wherever you find it. :)

I have to say...I love dense, rich chocolate. And almond. And semi-sweet chocolate chunks. And easy recipes. So I LOVE these cupcakes. The author of the book, Wendy Paul, has suggestions for frosting to use with each flavor of cupcake, but when Ashley made these the other day she just used (slightly sweetened, I believe) whipped cream, and I thought that it complimented the flavor and texture of the cupcakes perfectly. A sweeter or thicker frosting would have been overkill with the fudgy center.

Ok, so my Mother-in-Law is truly a sweet-tooth-life-saver and read me the recipe over the phone...and I think I have everything. So...I'll be back when they are done!!

This is a vagabond blog. This blog will wander through the things I love at random. It will express, divulge and unveil my life, love and various projects. It will be as diverse as my interests...which are many. I hope you don't mind.

*Smile*

I am happy you are here.

I'm Jessica, and the handsome guy next to me is Bryce. We met on school bus 93-G a long LONG time ago (maybe I'll tell you more about it another time *smile*). We are best friends.

We were married April 7, 2007 in the Salt Lake temple.

He is very creative as far as terms of endearment go...I have been known to go by Snapdragon, Baby-Snake, Snake, Love-bucket, Rat, Jessi, Rabbit-ears, Bugs, Jessi-bear, Snick, Snickety, You-Little-Oink, Babe, Jessi Rose and Pooh Bear....among others I'm sure I just can't recall. He usually goes by Bryce, Snake, Baby Snake, Snick, Babe or Brycee I think. I am so lucky to have him. He is wonderful and talented and dedicated. He works so hard, and I am grateful that he puts up with my nonsense. He's making dinner as I type...how lucky am I?!

So lucky me, I get to stay home ALL day today!! No work, no school...just....Shingles! That's right. What seemed to be a small bumpy rash thing on my face has been diagnosed as nothing less than chicken pox (all grown up and turned into Shingles)! They don't want me at school, even though I don't feel sick...something about not wanting an epidemic or something...which I suppose I understand. However, the doctor said that the only way anyone would catch anything is if they licked *gag* the sores, or touched them with their hands and then licked their hands. I don't know who my doctor thinks I hang out with, or why there would be so much licking going on, but hey, I guess you never can tell with some people. Ok, so Doc was probably just trying to tell me that it isn't that contagious, unless there is direct contact with the sores, but my school is still concerned. So here I am...blogging and online window shopping to my heart's content. I'll update you later on how long I am being banned from school premises. Until then...I'll try and take a cue from the mess partially documented in these photos., and clean up around here.
